Everything You Need to Know About BLYGOLD.
Trained applicators use a standardised, high- pressure air coat spray technique, ensuring uniform coverage and minimal pressure drop across coils.
Blygold coatings are applied exclusively by certified applicators. Some service products are available for direct purchase and application by end-users.
The duration varies depending on unit size and configuration. A minimum of three days is typically needed for our pre-treatment and coating process.
By minimising heat transfer impact and providing lasting corrosion protection, Blygold treatments
prevent capacity loss and energy consumption increase.
While it eliminates one cause of corrosion, a copper/copper heat exchanger remains vulnerable to environmental corrosion. Blygold coatings offer superior protection compared to untreated copper/copper coils.
Look for persistent white spots or pitting that doesn't vanish with cleaning. Galvanic corrosion around copper tubes requires more observation, possibly with medical devices like endoscopes or bore scopes.
Blygold's aluminium-impregnated polyurethane coating, applied after assembly, ensures complete coverage and penetration. Pre-coat systems lack full coverage and reduce initial capacity due to layering between metals.
Yes, periodic cleaning is essential even for units with Blygold coatings. Environmental exposure necessitates maintenance to uphold our warranty. Clean units regularly with a mild detergent, frequency depending on location and conditions.
Corrosion affects heat exchangers in diverse environments. Coastal areas and industrial zones with high pollutant concentrations are particularly prone. Corrosion may not be immediately visible but can lead to rapid deterioration in harsh environments.
Various factors contribute to corrosion, notably the combination of metals (copper and aluminium) and exposure to pollutants and moisture. Galvanic corrosion between these metals is common. Atmospheric agents like Sulphur Dioxide (S02) and Nitrogen Oxides (NO) exacerbate the process.
Blygold coatings resist many substances at varying concentrations. Explore our Resistance List for comprehensive details at the bottom of this page.
Corrosion diminishes efficiency and capacity, leading to increased energy consumption and reduced cooling capability. Heat exchangers, with their mix of metals and exposure to pollution, are highly susceptible. Corrosion on aluminium surfaces reduces heat transfer efficiency, while pollution obstructs airflow, raising condensing temperature and energy consumption.
Yes, we offer on-site deep cleaning and protection services. Even if corrosion appears severe, we can assess its recoverability. In most cases, our treatment not only halts corrosion but also prolongs equipment lifespan while delivering energy savings.
